President''s Corner
In honor of National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), the members of Gamma Alpha Tau Zeta participated in the Power of SHE initiative to educate, mobilize, and empower our local community.
Making Voices Heard at the Polls
Ensuring every eligible citizen is registered and prepared to vote is central to our commitment to civic engagement. On September 15, 2026, chapter members engaged directly with community members to verify registration statuses, and answer key questions about the voting process.
Beyond Registration: Commitments & Action Plans
To support long-term civic participation beyond initial registration, Gamma Alpha Tau Zeta focused on two key actions:
Pledge Cards: Voters signed commitment pledge cards to solidify their promise to vote.
Voting Plans: Members helped voters build personalized voting plans, addressing polling locations, mail-in options, and scheduling, to ensure a seamless voting experience.
Our chapter president, Latifa Miller, committed to driving an elder member of her congregation, Ms. Robin, to her local polling location at Pitcairn Assembly of God Church.
As civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis famously said, "Your vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have to create a more perfect union."
Sisterly,
